tough question: how to create a single m4b audiobook file??

Hi,

I bought an audiobook with 5 mp3-CD's and an apr. duration of 19 hours. Now, I just want to create a single audiobook file (m4b) to keep my mediathek clear. Is that possible on my mac?

I'm so thankfull for ANY kind of help.

Btw: I'm running Mountain Lion on my MBP and use the latest iTunes 11.

I have audiobooks which are longer than 13 hrs or so and I have found that 3 or 4 sections is way easier to manage than umpteen mp3 files.

However I found this entry from Chris in CA. It may help

See this -> Join Together v5.1.5
"This AppleScript Studio application will enable you to join the files of selected iTunes tracks together--including CD tracks--with QuickTime and export them as a single AAC file/track. Optionally, with Apple's ChapterTool application installed (download link included), it will create a "chapterized" audio file of the exported AAC file."

Besides Audiobook Builder I've also tried it with Join Together. But always had the same problem with the limitation. The only way I was able to join larger audiobook files was the freeware Yamb (Win). I'm currently not using a virtual machine any more, but I really do believe that there must be a way to sort my files the way I like > as few as possible.
