Kernel Panics-Brand New Mac Mini

I went back and reread this thread. I don't see any SMC or NVRAM reset mentioned. Make these two a top priority. If this doesn't improve or fix your stability issues, it might be worthwhile to pick up another mini-DP to DVI cable and see if that helps.

If Java was creating large-scale instability among Mountain Lion Mac minis, that information would have surfaced here in the forums with significant post traffic. If you haven't done so yet, wait on removing Java. Hopefully, Apple will kick 10.8.3 out the door to us.

Sorry I haven't replied. My problem was a power management setting called "Hibernate Free Ratio", which carried over when I migrated from my MBP. Deleting it is a pain in the *** because you have to do it in com.apple.PowerManagement.plist and reboot. But I tested it on a stock 10.8.2 install on both the MBP and the mini and I also used the latest dev build of 10.8.3, so I know that was the problem. Unfortunately, now hibernate works about 50% of the time, the other 50% it reboots with no kernel panic or even any log messages.

I'm sure Java isn't causing any kernel panics. There is a lot going on even when java is the active thread. But if anyone wants some help, you'll need to post the panic log through the "Kernel version:" section. You can find it in Console under "System Diagnostic Reports". If it isn't VM_PAGE_QUEUES_REMOVE, start a new thread and add a reply here pointing to it.

Since upgrading to 10.8.3 a couple of weeks ago, I haven't had a single crash.

Just installed a new BTO Mac Mini 2.6 GHz i7, model 12,2, fresh out-of-the-box with OSX 10.8.3, with a Fusion Drive and 16GB OWC RAM, and installed Filemaker Server 12.0.4.405. Three days of running stable.
