Problems printing photos from iPad to HP Envy 120 via AirPrint

I just set up an HP Envy 120 printer. I want to print quick snapshots of photos I have saved on my iPad (I want to print 4x6 or 5x7 photos on regular 8.5x11 paper and just cut out the blank border).

Unfortunately, no matter how I seem to crop the photo on the iPad, when I print, I get an error saying I have the wrong size paper in the printer, and if I tell the printer to continue, it will print the photo as a full 8.5x11 (using massive amounts of ink).

Is there a way to have the iPad to tell the printer to print a picture as a 4x6 (for example) but print it on the standard 8.5x11 paper that is in the printer?
