QuickTime is Apple's video format, as well as a video player.

If you are talking about your iPod Touch, then QuickTime support is already on your iPod Touch.

If you are talking about installing iTunes on Windows, then you need Apple QuickTime software as part of the iTunes install.

If you are talking about a Mac, then you already have QuickTime support on your Mac.

If you want more detailed information about QuickTime (most likely more than you ever wanted to know), then try the Wikipedia article <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QuickTime>

I am installing ITunes on windows, I think because I am not talking about the Mac. Does quick time allow you to watch the video on how to use ITunes?

iTunes depends on features in the Quicktime libraries. It will also allow you to play Quicktime formatted videos on your Windows system.

If you have some videos on using iTunes, then it all depends on what format they are encoded in. If they come from Apple, then chances are they are Quicktime format, and installing iTunes and Quictime will allow those videos to play.

It is my understanding that you cannot install iTunes without installing Quicktime, however, I'm a Mac user (and Linux, and Solaris, and a few other flavors of Unix user), so what I know about Windows is mostly what I read on the web 🙂
