Syncing a second ipod to my itunes library

I just bought my wife a brand spanking new ipod touch. We share a bank account so she has paid for half of the apps and books and music that I have in my itunes library. Unfortunately, itunes seems to think that all the BS I have gone through trying to get it set up with her music is for naught. Can someone tell me how I can sync a second ipod to one itunes library without having to create a new profile on my computer and opening a second itunes library?

Just check the box in the Muisc pane and some other panes to only sync checked items. In the apps pane on check the apps you want synced. Also see:

Didn't work. Is this because my wife already set her ipod up with her own account name? If so how do I change it so that it can be her Ipod but can still access the items she paid for?
