I turn off my ipod because an app wasnt responding. I turn it back on to find it wants me to plug it into itunes and restore it. I dont know how to somehow back it up to keep my data off it. I have lots of information and pictures on it I would like to keep. Does anyone know some way to do that?

You sync it with your computer via itunes. Did you ever connect your iPod to your computer?? What type of computer do you have - Windows / Mac?

If this program will not get it out of recovery mode (that is where it tells you to restore the iPod), the iPod is erased.
i downloaded it and as soon as i click exit recovery mode, it says something about an error occuring. I click continue like it says and all it does is make that window disappear.
i have windows and yes i have but all it says is its in recovery mode and i need to restore it before using it with itunes.
If you have connected to the computer, and synced data over to the computer, then you should be able to sync that data back. If you have not synced the data, it will be lost with the "restore"
There is nothing you can do except to restore and iPod. You will lose all info on the iPod.
