Is there a way to upgrade 2nd Generation Software: 4.2.1 to 5?

My iPod touch 2nd Generation cannot sync with Kindle because the app requires an upgrade version. Is there away out of this? Anyone - deggie?

A 2nd generation iPod Touch can not be upgraded beyond iOS 4.2.1.
