Auto what?
Where?
Which program?
autofill on macbook pro on toolbar or in safari, preferences?
Usually an online form is autofilled with your account's address book data.
Which version of Safari?
Go to contacts and add your information. If your name is already in contacts then click on edit and then enter your address in the correct field. Don't forget to click on Done when you are finished or you will just have to repeat the process again.
btkdiva , I have looked in the address book , I am in there complete everything , yet when on Safari and try to use autofill the drop down tells me it cant because it gets this info from address book and cant find any info?? I know what to do and how to do it but it still wont work!
Have you selected AutoFill under Safari Preferences?
If not: Open a screen in Safari.
In the upper left corner click on the word Safari
A drop-down menu will appear. Click on Preferences.
A box will open and on the top you should see:
General - Tabs - AutoFill - Passwords - Security - Privacy - Extensions & Advanced
Click on AutoFill
Click on the one, two or all three of the choices available.
If you click on edit, your address book info will appear and you can make any changes that may be necessary.
AutoFill should now be working for you SnoLeopard.
Let me know if it works now, ok?
btkdiva , that's what I meant by I know what to do and how it's supposed to work ......
everything you mentioned is in place even the addrtess book stuff comes up with all the correct info
but no it still does not fill. ????
I just found this under a community question "autofill not working properly":
I had the following problems in the course of trying to resolve the issue:
After deleting "my card", I got "autofill was unable to complete the form" even though when I clicked on preferences: autofill:edit card. This pulls up the first card that matches the name of the logged in user. To fix the problem:
I never figured out how to to control the order in which multiple addresses and emails gets selected.
The system preferences contacts card is under users and groups in my system. I just tried these instructions on my computer and it worked for me. Solved the yellow box that would not go away problem! Yea! Thanks snowyogi! & good luck SnoLeopard.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ~ Solved!
Now I dont know how to Check "This solved my question" but you did
thanks again~
You're Welcome. Thank goodness that there is a great community of helpful Mac users! Thank You All!!
