How do I turn off notifications from Groupon?

I have an iphone 4, and I turned off groupon subscriptions inside the app, and turned off notifications in the iphone settings, yet I am still getting a message every 30-60 minutes from groupon. I need this to turn off, its killing my battery, please someone advise.
