Why can't I hear the sound on a wmv file someone sent me?

I can't hear the sound when playing a wmv file. Anyone know how to fix this?

MacBook Pro, iOS 6.0.2

I would use VLC - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html.
