2. Then, the whole screen turns light blue.

Alright calm Down easy fix this happened to me and do t sweat it just plug it In to a computer with iTunes and enter dfu mode.hold the home and power button down ten seconds the release the power button and hold the home button don't let go and iTunes will reconigze it and restore. And the screen will remain black once in dfu mode

It resets the iPod and recorrects the software issues
