Netflix no longer works on iOS 4

I am no longer able to use my netflix app on my ipod touch 4. When I click on the app, I see the netflix red page, and after that loads, instead of seeing the video library, I just see a bland gray page. I've left that blank grey page up for several minutes and I never get past it to the video library.

I tried:

• turning the ipod off and back on
• deleting the app from my ipod and syncing it again from the app library in itunes
• updating the app - it will only update for iOS 5, which I haven't downloaded yet. (I plan to at some point, but haven't had time yet)
