DiskAid from DigiDNA: pros/cons?

Came across the Disk Aid iPhone/iPod/iPad utility that purports to allow you to do most of what iTunes, plus a whole other set of desirable stuff such as using the device as a storage device for the Mac, uploading files such as eBooks directly, etc. And it's on sale on MacUpdate.com.

Before risking the health of my shiny new iGadget and my sanity as well, can I get some feedback on the pros or cons of using the app in parallel with iTunes?

Have no qualms even with the reborn iTunes 11, but there are some things Disk Aid offers to do that iTunes won't and I really yearn to have.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.2, Black, 64GB
