Mac Cant Sign INTO Messages

Sign out of iMessages on your other device and see whether you can sign in on the Mac.

how do i sign out of imessage on my idevices? just turn imessages off? or sign out of itunes store on all devices?

what i did was signed out of itunes store on each device and than turned messages off on each device.

if that was the correct way to sign out of messages on my idevices, it still didnt help the issue with my mac. i'm still getting the same error message about not being able to register.

Sign out on the iPad: Settings▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out.

If that doesn't help, the problem is on Apple's end. I've seen many other reports like yours in the last few days. You'll have to contact Apple for a resolution.

ok so i did what you told me and still nothing. now if this is an issue on apple's end, and i no longer have apple care on my mac, how should i go about this? call up using my iphone serial which still has apple care? or should apple fix this with me using my mac's serial that has no apple care and not charge me to help me over the phone?

I don't speak for Apple and I can't tell you what Apple will do. Sometimes they waive the charge for a support incident when the problem is their fault. The link to Apple Support is at the top of this page.

i had to pay apple -_-

had to delete cache items by holding cmd i think and pressing library in finder, than take out these plist files from preferences that had anything like imagent or imessage, anything like that was moved to desktop. than had to do a pram refresh by shutting down mac and holding down cmd+optn+r+p as soon as i press power button, i'd hold down those 4 buttons until i hear the computer restart twice than let go. and poof that fixed issue, deleted old plist files that were on desktop.

Have had same problem for weeks.

I resolved problem by simply doing a pram refresh by shutting down MacBook and holding down cmd+optn+r+p while restarting MacBook. Thanks for heading me in the right direction!

After deleting/moving all the various prefs and plists, a PRAM refresh worked for me. Thanks!
