Where have all the Notes and Safari bookmarks gone?

I don't know if it has to do with the fact that there was a recent iTunes upgrade, but I did sync to it with my iPad and now all of my Notes and Safari bookmarks have disappeared. This happened on the computer I use at work (a PC).

At home I use a Mac and am thinking I'll hold off on the sync thinking someone out there can tell me if I should do something to make them reappear again (could they be in my Mac?).

Also, why would they just disappear? I tried resetting Safari and even rebooting the iPad but no dice.

Thanks! Eric

OK there is no 'MobileSync' on this Mac. So I decided to just do File-Devices-Back Up. That created a new backup dated today. So I figured I would just restore from the backup dated 'Eric's iPad 12/23/12'. I knew that if I backed up from the one dated today that it would just restore what had been on there today. It restored the material from 12/23/12 all right, but now I see that when I synced on that day, apparently Notes and Safari Bookmarks did not sync. In fact apparently they had not for awhile, since what I was given in the way of Notes and Bookmarks was about a year old. Is there any place else I can go to get Notes and Bookmarks that were actually on my iPad when I hooked it up to the PC at work and everything was wiped out?

Also, I have just noticed that all of my photos are gone, both in Photos and in Camera Roll! Was this part of the deal? I thought this was just to replace Notes and Bookmarks. In fact now I see the iPad screens are totally rearranged. I imagine I will be going through it all day today seeing that everything from each application is lost. How to get this all back?

You get all back from back up you created today, but you will lose what you have now.

Sync has nothing to do with restore from back up, your back up should have brought back all of your info if notes were local. What it means your notes were synced with your mail account and when account came back it didn't have notes for you. I am afraid no notes are going to be coming back.

OK! So I went ahead and re-did the Restore from (most recent) Backup and got all the photos back and the screens are back the way they used to be.

So now, is there a way to make my Notes and Bookmarks sync local instead of with the e-mail account since clearly with the e-mail account they did not back up?

Or is it possible to back them up on the Cloud (assuming I can figure out how to use it)?

I tried all the suggested remedies to return my bookmarks, but to no avail. Finally I went to 'settings' then 'general' then scrolled down to 'reset' - a new screen appears and I chose 'reset all settings'. Ipad shut down and when I restarted it had to reset the language / country settings etc as though i was starting afresh with a new ipad. Once this was done, bookmarks returned to safari. I've not seen this solution elsewhere on mysearches for a solution, so hope this helps others as Apple don't seem to care once they've had their money. Never again will i get / recomend an ipad. PS no data was lost using this method.
