HELP PLEASE!!!

got the new ipod. synced it to itunes. I then went to update so i could update my ipod to ios 6.1. For some reason my ipod went into recovery mode. as a result, it says I have to restore the ipod to continue. However, since there is an update available, it automatically tries to update it. However, it cant, since it is in recovery mode. I can't get it out of recovery mode, because it has to be restored, and I cant restore it because it has to update, and I cant update because it is recovery mode.

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I had tried that before and nothing happened. My ipod restored and updated, and then when i unplugged it and restarted it, i was back to the plug into itunes screen. Ive done this process with different itunes accounts, and i created another user on my computer and just synced it. the results are all the same. its stuck in recovery mode, itunes restores and updates, then it goes right back into recovery mode again
