connecting to a dlna server

I have just set up a Bell Sagemcom router with attached storage for my home network. I can connect with my windows machine to this storage (win 8 and win 7). When I try with my mac mini and macbook pro, I cannot connect. I,m trying with the smb protocol. Cmd K, smb://mynetwork/storage

The router uses uPnp and Dlna.

I run Mountain Lion on my 2 macs.

Thanks on advance

I have the exact same problem... I can use the USB drives with all my other devices (PS3, TV's, etc.) but can not get any of my Mac's (all running OS X 10.8.2) to connect to them.

In some other forums I've found info saying the Bell Sagemcom uses an older/unsupported protocol that OS X won't connect to...

Hope there is a solution that comes up, but I haven't found it yet.

TEMPORARY SOLUTION

After an exhaustive search and hours of trial and error... There IS a solution... Kind of...

Obviously there is some type of protocol that OS X doesn't seem to agree with when connecting to the Bell Sagemcom to access the USB drives there. (Dear Apple, this is waaaaay above my knowledge level, but please fix this!)

However, I happne to be running VMWare (running Windows 7) on my MacBook Pro so when I tried to access the networked USB drives from inside Windows 7, Ta-Da!... There it was. So I am now able to drag and drop files from there right onto my Mac OS X desktop.

I would assume this will work with both VMWare and Parallels running a copy of Windows.

Would really be nice to just have Apple fix this though, because clearly it is possible. (Nothing is worse than when you know something COULD work, it just doesn't... So annoying!)

Hope this helps for now!
