Applets in Java 7.10

I dowloaded a Java new version (7.10) and now I cannot run Java applets any more.

Because of that I cannot use Internet Banking of my Bank in Brazil because it uses a security module based on Java applets.

Does anybody know how to run applets in this new Java version?

My version of Mac OS is 10.8.2

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Well, somebody in Brazil gave me a "work around": to use Firefox instead of Safari.

With Firefox I could run the Internet Banking security module so now I can use the Internet Banking.

But we had an interesting discussion and I would like to know what will happen to the combination "Java and Safari" because Safari is my prefered browser.

Thanks everybody!

In my understand it blocked only for Safari because when I used Firefox the security module worked well.

In fact, I also tested with Chrome and it didn't work with Chrome.

So with Java 7.10 it doesn't work with Safari and Chrome and it does work with Firefox.

With Java 7.11 it works in both, Safari and Firefox.

Then I would label Firefox as a severe security risk. Every security analyst worth their salt recommended disabling Java until the vulnerability was patched. Safari abd Chrome did it automatically with a backdoor security update. Firefox did not. I suppose you had to manually disable it.
