Using Iphone 5 Overseas - SE Asia

Recently, I purchased two Iphone 5s from the US to use overseas, so far I have had no luck getting them to recognize any of the local GSM carriers.

One is a MD105LL the other is a MD097LL.

Is there any reason why they would be stuck searching for the carriers? They are able to access the SIM features of each carrier but not getting any kind of signal on either of them.

I read somewhere they needed to be Restored and then select the Carrier Manually but they both report back saying they are unable to fetch the carrier list.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Long time no see guys, I just wonna bump the thread to tell that Apple software update (7.1.1) is broke my phone again.

When I am completed the restore and run through initial setting it tells me this:

So business as usual, I am going further trough setup and here is the home screen. Then I inserted my carrier sim card and see that picture:

So it doesnt matter how hard I tryied, I cant make it work again. I cant use my SIM card to receive the international roaming.

As far as I can tell everything was fine and smooth from 5.* to 7.0.6. This problem occured to firmware 7.1 and 7.1.1 only (tryed both)

I speaked to my local Apple support(Russia), and they dont have a clue, they dont even have an idea about dual band phone, told me that is impossible for a mobile phone to work at CDMA and GSM... Mmkey...

I also speaked to US Apple support, those guys was much nicier and they got an idea, but they just told me that they has no instruments to help me right now.

So basically what I see here is that software guys broke what was working. Are they planning on fixing it anytime soon? Or I just have to drop my suddenly bricked phone and save money for new one?
