Why does Safari insist I "use original player" when playing embedded YouTube videos?
After all, I'm using the latest version of Flash Player.

Hello there,
Check your Extensions see if you downloaded an extension that blocks flash.
go to Safari-->Preferenses then click the Extenssion Tab and check if you have like ClickToFlash or youtube5 or some thing like that and disable it 🙂
Right click on the video and see if you can restore Flash from the contextual menu.
Best.
I've just looked and I have the extension YouTube5 installed, which enables HTML5 on YouTube and Vimeo. Would I lose more by uninstalling it - is it better for me to just click 'Use original player' whenever it appears?
Well yes, Then that is why Safari is using Youtube5 not the original Flash player.
I Use Click To Flash but i noticed it is crashing Safari, So I am back now to Youtube5, which I love honetly.
If you want to use flash then Disable it you don't have to uninstall it, just disable it, and when you want to use Youtube5 then you can enable it. I think HTML5 is lighter on the browser and the battery life 🙂
Yea i think it's better to click use original player if you want it to use flash but again why would you want to use flash if you can use HTML5 lol
I need Flash for many other things, but I can avoid it on Safari 😉
Yea well you have the option to use the original one or the HTML5 extension when you please.
and if you go to the preferences you can check the settings you want to use, like use it on Facebook or not... and other options 🙂
