Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
When I try to edit a photo in iPhoto it turns all white or all black.
When I click undo the photo goes back to normal.
Initially I thought it only happened on photos from my iPhone but it is now happening to photos from other camera's.
The issue is not specific to any type of edit I am trying to do, it happens with all methods of editing.
I am using iPhoto 11 version 9.4.2
Can anyone help?
I had just tried creating a new user account , and logge in using that account.
Unfortunately the same problem is happening on this account aswell.
It looks like the next step is a reinstall of iPhoto. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the:
HD/Library/Receipts folder (10.5 and earlier)
or from the /var/db/receipts/ folder (10.6) .
or from the /private/var/db/receipts folder (10.7 or later)
Then install iPhoto from the source it came from originally.
i have just tried this,
and after re-installing iPhoto I am still seeing the same issue.
the first photo i tried to edit turned all white.
i don't understand how this can still be happening, very frustrating 😟
does anyone else have any advice they can share?
Where is your iPhoto library located? On your boot drive or an external drive - if EHD what format is it?
What is the color profile of the problem photo(s) - it should be sRGB - iPHoto doew not support gray scale photos

Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try editing again. If it edits successfully rebuild normally and try once more. The Safe Mode reboot runs repairs on the disk.
my iphoto library is on my boot drive,
how do i check the color profile of the photos?
i am not sure if it is sRGB or something else...
many of the photos are from my iPhone 4s.
not sure if this affects the issue at all?

Open the photo with Preview and type Command + i to bring up the Info window. In the first window will be the color profile:
i have checked and my photos are exactly like yours
color model : rgb
color sync profile : srgb iec61966_2.1
