ringtone maker on new itunes 11.1

..and File/create new version only has 'create new mp3' option. original file is an mp3 already.

..ok, problem solved: I changed iTunes/preferences/import settings - was set at .mp3 encoder. Changed it to .aac encoder, and voilà, the 'create aac version' appeared in right-click menu of library. ringtone created!

I'm not seeing Create AAC Verison as I used too with previous iTunes versions... Now it's only showing Create mp3 verison

Doing a search to resolve my problems trying to sync newly made ringtones to my iphone. When I connect, go to iphone, then tones, the "select tones" tab is grayed out, and only the sync all tab is highlighted. When you click it, it asks are you sure you want to delete all music, etc., blah blah blah

Is there a way to load newly made ringtones from Ringtone Maker onto iphone without having to delete the files that are currently loaded on my iphone?

The new iphone update screwed all of this up. Annoying to not be able to make my own ringtones now.

Sorry, I'm not a developer for Ringtone Maker and I'm not using it, why don't you contact them.

I just use my computer iTunes to make my ringtones, I don't need an app for that.

Here's how to make ringtone using iTunes.

1. Select a title (.mp3 or .m4a) in your iTunes Library

2. Do File > Get Info on selected title (Windows do Edit > Get Info)

3. In the dialog choose Options tab

4. Set Start Time and End Time (no more than 35 secs otherwise won't work)

5. Close dialog.

6. Now control click the title (right click) and choose Create AAC Version

7. When it is done, drag the newly create title to the desktop.

8. Delete the newly create title in iTunes.

9. Rename the title on your desktop from ringtone.m4a to ringtone.m4r

10. Drag and drop it into iTunes

Now you have a ringtone.

Make sure it is selected in iTunes for syncing with your new iPhone.

I saw this post and was really excited...up until I got to step 9! When I drag the file out of itunes and drop onto the desktop, there isn't a .fileformat on the end, just the song title. What should I do to see it and change it?

It been a long time that I use Windows.

There is an option in your Window Explorer to show/hide file extension. Search for it.

ok, that solved the first issue lol. It's labled as a ringtone but now I can't put it into itunes, I chose to the file to add through file>add file to library and also tried dragging and dropping right into it. neither worked.
