Hi there. Since the last ios upgrade which I just did on Sunday I cannot get my outlook to open. All of my other Microsoft Office programs open just not Outlook. I have rebuilt identity several times. I can hear my email notification dinging in the background but can't get to it. I'm at wits end and I really need to get to my work email.

Can someone please help me?

Hi. Yes I updated my OS not OUTLOOK. It was the last update and I could never do it because I didn't have wifi. I had wifi installed Friday and decided to do it.

I am running 10.7.5 and outlook is from Office 2011. Yes this was the only update I did. My computer was fine until about 3pm when I did that then when it rebooted my outlook wouldn't open at all but I could hear it "dinging" in the background like it does when I receive email. Everything else appears to be operating fine.

If you can hear the e-mail notification that means that Outlook is running (or in your words "open"). So perhaps it is that you do not see the window with your e-mail messages listed. Yes?

To verify that Outlook is running/open, hold down the command key and press the tab key. You should see icons of the open applications pop up. Press the tab key again and it will move to each application. When the Outlook icon is highlighted, release the keys.

Do you see the Outlook menu row at the top of your screen? If yes, then on the menu row, click File, then New and from the sub pop out menu, select Open New Main Window.

Ok I did that and there is no icon for Outlook so I'm assuming now it's not open?

The fact that you were here the email notifications is still curious. Another way to check if an app is open is to click on the Apple icon menu and select Force Quit... In the Force Quit Applications window, is Outlook listed there?

It seems like it updated my excel/word but Outlook still won't load. It opens then immediately closes.

At least you actually saw Outlook launch and quit. Since your original post stated that the problem started after updating the OS, try launching Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder) to verify that your hard disk is okay. If it reports OK, then Repair Disk Permissions. Reboot the computer.

If the problem persists and you updated the OS using Software Update, you might try downloading the OS 10.7.5 combo update and apply the update again.
