How do I import movies onto my iPad?

I understand that you need MP4 or quicktime format to play movies on the iPad

Let's say I convert one of my DVD's to either of these formats, how do I upload to the iPad?

Erm... is it just as simple as connecting the cable and my PC or Mac and just copying files accross??

Thanks

  1. Connect your iPad to your computer, and run iTunes.
  2. Drag the movie onto the iTunes, then movie will copy to the Movies area of iTunes.
  3. If you haven't added any movies before, the Movies area will now appear in the list, near Music.
  4. Select your iPad from the sidebar menu. You will now see an options screen for your iPad.
  5. Click the “Movies” tab near the top of the screen, and check the box next to “Sync movies.”
  6. Click “Sync” on the main screen to sync your iPad. The movie you dragged into iTunes will now sync to the iPad.

And for the other way around - transfer videos from iPad to computer, iTunes can't have it done.
