Upgrade Black Macbook hard drive using external hard drive?
I just purchased my first Macbook, and first Apple computer for that matter, a late 2007 black Macbook. It is in perfect shape, but after upgrading the memory I want to upgrade the hard drive from the std 160gb to something like 320 or 500gb. I have read some posts about using a hard drive enclosure to clone the new drive but not having one of those, is there any way I can use a 250gb external hard drive to transfer files or clone the old drive? I am just wondering if I can move everything off the old drive to the external, install the new hard drive, and then transfer everything onto the new one from the external drive? I do have a new retail copy of Snow Leopard if that is needed or makes a difference. Any help in basic terms would be great, as again, I am new to Apple and am still learning how they behave. Thanks!
