Hi all, I am running on an older machine running RedHat Linux, and I have VirtualBox (Which supports OS X). My video absolutely ***** (Intel Integrated) and I only have 1GB of memory to play with. With say only 512 MB, can OS X run on VBox?

No. Virtualization does not affect the hardware requirements for the OS. And unless you're referring to running VirtualBox on a Mac, attempting to run OS X regardless of the hardware specifications would be a violation of the license for OS X.

Note that virtualization applications on Windows don't allow you to install Mac OS X. This option is only available for Macintoshes, because the Mac OS X Terms of Use doesn't allow the OS X use on PCs
