Problems with either Bootcamp or my hard drive

The disk cannot be partitioned because some files can not be moved.

Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again.

I would like to partition my drive so that I have windows 7 on my Mac as well as os mountain lion but I get the above message every time. I have partitioned it before and it has worked but then I ran out of space on my hd so I had to remove the partition until I could clear out enough space to retain that partition. If anybody could describe this problem to me and how I might go about fixing it that would be more than great. Thanks!!!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

So I reboot from the clone after going on the recovery hdd and deleting the original Macintosh hdd. What should I format the external hdd as?

The external drive is your clone, format it (before you clone) as MAC OS Extended (Journaled)

Also when I select the clone will it automatically put it back into place on my hdd or will I have to do something?

No, after cloning and erasing etc you will use CCC to 'put' the clone back on your HDD, please note that the clone operations will take several hours, allow plenty of time.

Are you sure that you are ready for this, you seem to have trouble following me, I already answered this question

As for this:

So on what partition will I go onto to have access to CCC? Will I go onto my external hdd to acess CCC?

I am a little perturbed.

After you install CCC on your HDD (in order to make the clone in the first place) you will clone the drive, the external drive then will be an exact duplicate of the internal, thus it wll also contain CCC. You will boot TO THE CLONE for all further operations until the clone is transferred back to the HDD, then and only then will you boot from the HDD.
