I just upgraded the memory of my macbook pro, now I have awitched it back on all I have is a black screen but I can hear the drive working
Which MacBook Pro?
Which RAM?
Have you tried with the original RAM?
Hi its a 15" early 2008 w881957syjx
the ram is 667mh DDR2 SD ram
It's back working again using the original ram
It is possible that you have defective or incorrectly labeled RAM. Some manufacturers state that 800mHz RAM will work, but Macs are very particular about RAM specs. It may also be not seated properly.
Maximum Memory | 6.0 GB (Actual) 4.0 GB (Apple) |
---|---|
Memory Slots | 2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM |
Thank you, I will just give it another try to make sure its seated right, if it doesn't work I'll send it back for an exchange.
Thank you for your help
You're welcome.
Two vendors that will guarantee that their ram works with Macs
Thank you
You're welcome. After you get the ram exchanged post back if you still have problems, but I'm confident you won't. Just stick to ram from OWC or Crucial and stay away from the "value" brands Kingston, Centon, corsair and the like.
Thank you 🙂
