I FIGURED IT OUT!!!

Sign out in:

Settings > iTunes & App Store

and do not sign in.

try downloading instagram. it will prompt you for apple id, loging with your apple id.

This worked for me!

If not, try logging out of iCloud AND iTunes and try again.

Hope this helps!

I did literally exactly the same thing a few days ago and I started getting the same message 'sorry there is a problem with your request'. I tried all sorts including contacting IG who eventually shrugged their shoulders and sent me to the troubleshooting page, smh.

So, I have a business type account linked to my Facebook page.

This is what I did:

Using my iPad I changed my IG account back to a personal account. Unlinked it from my Facebook account. Changed it back to a business account which requires you to link it back to your Facebook account/page. Went back to my phone and selected the login via Facebook option and boom, I'm back in.

This is what worked for me! I logged into the app from another device. Then, i linked it to my facebook account from the settings section in the Instagram app. Then, I went back to the phone that i had trouble logging in with and instead of using the username to log in I opted to sign in with Facebook and Bam...I was logged in again. Hope this works for you.

After trying all the helpful suggestions, I finally wiped my son's phone clean: Restore as a New iPhone. I did not have to create a new Apple ID for him, thankfully. Once restored, I downloaded Instagram and he was able to sign right in. I just want to clarify that his notification from Instagram was "Your account has been disabled for violating our terms", but he could access it from any other device, so it wasn't actually disabled. I would make sure you are able to access your account via PC without issue before wiping your phone clean. If it's actually been disabled, then doing this won't help you at all.

After a week of emailing with Instagram Support, I got this:

Not sure if folks are looking for an answer on this still or not, but I went through many pages of possible solutions. In the end, what worked for me and got my Instagram account "unlocked" was restoring my iPhone, by using the "Restore" option in ITunes. Remember this brings your phone back to factory, out of the box settings.

It wasn't a huge deal for me because I didn't have alot of apps I need to re-download, but I can testify that it did work. Just do NOT use the "Restore from Backup" option as that will just put the "bad code" back on your phone.

It took about 30 mins or so, after it was all done, I re-downloaded Instagram and POOF, I'm logged back in. Just have to go through the hassle of re-doing all your settings.

Oh and if you're on Verizon, grab the app "Backup Assistant" before you do this, it will back up all your contacts only, this saved me ALOT of work! You just download it again after the restore and it will guide you through getting your contacts back.

Hope this helps!!

Can you create the new Instagram ID on your phone? If can, please log in via the new ID and log out. Then try to log in via your primary ID. I ever met the similar problem, and I tried that, log in on another device and deleted some not important photos, and added several letters in my description. Then I tried to log in the primary phone again. I found it successful!.

Earlier today, I deleted the Instagram app to clear up some space. When I reinstalled it, I couldn't log back into my account. All I got was the message "sorry, there was a problem with your request." I did sent myself an email to log back in. I was able to log in through my browser, but when I tried to open it in the app, I got the same message. I'm able to enter my account through my tablet's app, so clearly my account isn't blocked, but my phone is blocked. I tried creating a new account with a new email; it said signup blocked. I tried linking it to a Facebook account and logging in through that; didn't work. I deleted and redownloaded the app; also didn't help. I tried a different apple ID, that didn't work either. I finally emailed Instagram asking for help, and I got a reply saying: "Please reply to this email and attach a photo of yourself holding a hand-written copy of the code below, etc..." I did all that and I'm waiting for a reply.

I've done just about everything else suggested except factory reset my phone. Is there any other way?

Hey. I have the same problem too. I can log in on any other devices but not my phone! If I restore my phone back to factory settings, all my apps will be gone, right? How about my photos? I have iCloud backup and photo stream. Those photos are very important to me! In addition to that, will the apps of the day that I have downloaded be gone? I can't get them back once I have restored everything to factory settings, can I? Please reply! Thank you in advance. And sorry for my bad English.
