Macbook air battery indicator

Hi guys

I am realizing that the indicator of the battery of my Macbook air is decreasing even with that plugged in the power. Do you know if it some problem with that indicator or the battery is being used even plugged? What is the better way to save battery or to avoid that?

When the battery is fully charged the indicator shows me 100% and at this moment, even plugged it is showing me 96%.

Thanks

André

When processor intensive activities are running computer may use all the power available.

Battery will not be charging. Computer may even draw power from the battery.

If the battery icon in the Finder menu bar is set to show the percentage of charge , you might sometimes notice that the battery does not attain a full 100 percent charge when the power adapter is attached. This is normal behavior; battery life is maximized if charging is not continuously cycled on and off when the battery’s charge capacity is between 95 and 100 percent. When the battery level eventually drops below 95 percent, it will charge all the way to 100 percent.
