Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If the uninstaller doesn't work, open Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions, select "My Personal Homepage" and press Uninstall. Then, go to General tab and type the homepage you want
I do not have "My Personal Home Page" either that or ir is blank?
I have seen that it could be different. Have you got any other extension? If you have an extension that you don't need, uninstall it
I did however reset to Google in General. The tool bar in Sarari still has Genieo and a pop up window still keeps comming up in the right hand corner next to the HD icon?
But have you checked if you have any extension installed on Safari > Preferences > Extensions? Delete all the extensions you don't want or need. This should remove Genieo from Safari
No extention, just updates and window pops up asking to check for automatic Safari updates.
Have you tried to download the Genieo installer and open it? > http://download.genieo.com/misc/Uninstall+Genieo.dmg
There is an genieo uninstall icon in applications that I have used several times with no success. Do I need to quit safari first?
If Genieo affects to Safari, you should quit Safari. Also, try with the uninstaller I gave you on the last reply
Did that and a restart everything has remained the same.
I suspect that I will just have to live with it, at least I got my google home page back. Thanks
Hi dgtroy
Please open safari prefrences (cmd+,) and set your home page to the one you like.
Depending on your safari version you can change the search provider from the setting or from the browser.
Change it to bing, make a search to verifay you changed it to bing and then change it to google.
Restart your safari.
If you uninstalled Genieo using the uninstaller, Genieo icon and the uninstaller icon should not be in your application folder. if you downloaded the uninstaller it does not have any application to work on and this is why you do not see any changes when you run it.
Genieo never left when I ran uninstaller. I have set preferences to Google but the entire tool bar is run by genieo and there is a popup window as well. : - ( I dislike being invaded by these tool bars when I download something from the web : - p Thanks everyboby for your help : - )
Genieo does not have a toolbar or is not installed as an extension.
Please provide a print screen of what you think genieo is on your computer and if it's Genieo related I can provide full removal instructions.
Thanks, it is nice to get support about this issur straight from Genieo. I have reset to Google in Preferences using General. There is pop up window keeps comming up in the right hand corner next to the HD icon (updates by Genieo). I believe WiseConvert is the tool bar. I do not know how to do a print sceen.
