why do i get one track albums on ipod touch

i have brought heaps of music from itunes and i hate to be scrowling and find one track in a album on my ipod or on itunes thats why i make my own album names like the hits of 2012 on the old ipod classic all 20 songs would display in one album now on the ipod touchi get 20 single tracks in search by albums really anoying cause you dont want the music to end after each track ive tryed putting all my tracks as compilation still doest work.
