iCloud restore Google Chrome no tabs

Not sure what I've done wrong but when I erased and restored my iPad (Apps synced by iTunes), first off there was no option to restore an iCloud backup, but once I synced the Apps the data that I hoped was backed-up to iCloud was not there ... e.g. Google Chrome "Tabs". I tried the iPad first because I have more important info on my iPhone 4s.

This is since the latest update of iTunes (11.0.1 2012/2013), the iOS is 6.0.1

Reminders / notes n such are available across devices & available on the iCloud Web-page. I also hope there is no 'sync' problems ... e.g. if both devices are synced to iCloud and both devices start anew, then it won't erase / blank-out what is in the Cloud.

Hope this makes sense

You restore an iCloud backup by first erasing the device by going to Settings>General>Reset and tapping Erase All Content and Settings. Then go through the setup screens on the device until you are given the option to Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below). Be sure you device is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish. Your apps will be redownloaded at the end of the restore process.

I tried & amazingly enough it's multitasking of syncing is good, the Photos & Video were from iTunes at the same time as it's restoration but the Apps however did not sync from iTunes and are still downloading.

This strikes me as very unprofessional :-P (someone should talk to Apple about this problem !)

That's the way restoring from iCloud works...apps are redownloaded from the app store. Many people like this because it doesn't require using iTunes or your computer; however it's slower than restoring from an iTunes backup. If you don't like this, you can always turn off iCloud backup and start backing up on your computer using iTunes.

The primary benefit of backing up to iCloud is that it's automatic. Your device is backed up every 24 hrs. when it is locked and connected to wifi. This way you always have a current backup without thinking about it.

However, iTunes backups back up more of your data*, and are faster to restore from. But they do require some discipline as they only occur when you sync your device, or create them manually in iTunes. If you regularly sync this isn't a problem. If not, you may end up without a current backup when you need one.

Games in the "Game Center" work ok so far, just tried re-installing "Tiny Troopers" which had a save in iCloud before and it loaded the data ok (asked to restore), also Game Center remembers the scores acheived so far so good, and when i deleted it after it stated that it would be deleted from the iPad but not iCloud :-)

... I hadn't noticed this before i restored from iCloud but now i have it seems slightly better

Still nervous about other individual Apps. Is there any way round this ?, I have "iExplorer" and that works ok but I don't fully trust it and sorting through the files is not always obvious.
