Mar 12, 2013 1:48 PM in response to jamezmbpby Pete77777,Exactly same as tango1111 above, purchased yesterday, same specs, fan just goes nuts when simply on desktop or cruizing internet, should i replace or wait for apple with fix? Is EVERYONE having this problem or isit possible my macbook will get replaced and wont have this problem?
Very disapointed, over 2 grand and still having issues.

Mar 12, 2013 1:50 PM in response to Pete77777by nonchalance,Until it hits the bottom line, Apple won't do squat. They'll take their time putting together a firmware that may fix the problem. The best thing to do is just return defective units repeatedly until they are forced to admit the problem.

Mar 12, 2013 6:27 PM in response to jamezmbpby kevinreynoldsdetroit,I have the problem as well. 1 hour after opening the box it started the fan. A few Safari windows open and downloading some software. Haven't installed anything on it yet and its bugging out. The fan has kicked on 4 times in 30 mins.
Macbook Pro Retina 15 2.4 256 Sansdisk SSD
This is the first time I have ever been disappointed opening a new Mac product since 1992. This is killing me right now.
Zapped the PRAM and did the SMC so we will see. If it doesn't resolve I'm heading right to the Apple store for a different machine. This is insane.

Mar 12, 2013 9:45 PM in response to jamezmbpby yzmuzik,Purchased retina 15" 3 weeks ago... No fan issues in OSX but when running BootCamp and any game the fans start immediately and don't turn off until I exit whatever game I'm playing.

Mar 13, 2013 1:39 AM in response to jamezmbpby -ailand-,Apple seeds OS X 10.8.3 build 12D78 to developers, it looks like this does nothing for our problem.

Mar 13, 2013 5:55 AM in response to -ailand-by kevinreynoldsdetroit,That's it I'm done. This computer isn't more than a day old and the fan started up loud again (8th time since I've been using it) while reading the NYTimes website during breakfast. I have never been so disappointed in a Mac product in my life. Been on these machines since 1992. Usually happy as anything the moment I purchase a new Mac product but this is insane.
Its going back. Super annoying since I have installed and registered all my music software and now have to clean install. UGH.

Mar 13, 2013 8:43 AM in response to baddamouseby TheKIV,Did you try to "force reload/refresh" this page? As for me - all messages exist.

Mar 13, 2013 8:53 AM in response to TheKIVby baddamouse,No that isn't the problem.
Between this post
I have the problem as well. 1 hour.........
and this one
Purchased retina 15" 3 weeks ago...
There are a few posts that have been removed between them. I know this because they were certain ones that were unforgettable.
If they have been removed purposfully then that is not on and clearly then someone from apple is actually watching these threads.
I would much rather they issue a fix faster than remove user posts.

Mar 13, 2013 8:59 AM in response to baddamouseby inajeep,I would imagine that the person(s) monitoring this thread and those who may be addressing the issue are not one in the same nor in the same group.
Can you give us the gist of these missing posts.
