That is *very* true.

Mar 14, 2013 11:37 AM in response to jamezmbpby john500y2k,It's been far longer than 2 weeks. The last out of my 4 device exchanges the receipt is dated 11th Feb.
If testing prevails I'm just so glad I can finally exchange the lightest, slimmest, smallest and most durable apple product..................the gift card for a real tangible apple product.
Still at least the gift card didn't have any fan troubles.

Mar 14, 2013 11:49 AM in response to jamezmbpby erensto,It helped a lot to have a consistent way to reproduce the issue (the song in itunes) and the video in YouTube (was that Oyinko2?. He is banned from the forum now).
Media picked it up and sure thing that goes a long way.

Mar 14, 2013 11:49 AM in response to nonchalanceby john500y2k,Trust me that was my first intention.
But during the 4 exchanges one of the apple staff had taken away my original receipt with the card details on it. So all the receipts I was left with only had one rMBP at £-1900 and the other at £1900.
The apple man said as I couldn't prove which card I purchased it on the only option was a gift card. I think you know how I felt when I heard that. I didn't have the energy by then to make a fuss about that as I already had to have the conversation with the store manager with me having to defend myself by saying "no this isn't a standard feature", "no I'm not just making this up" with me finally saying "FINE WATCH THIS VIDEO I RECORDED ON MY PHONE".

Mar 14, 2013 12:02 PM in response to 33manby mohanfromajax,guys i just picked up a 13 rmbp with i7 55gb ssd.
my system preferences show the drive to be:
APPLE SSD SM512E Media
i am assuming this is a samsung drive. can someone confirm. have not heard any fans yet.
also not sure how to check if the screen is samsung,,, these threads indicate the command line script does not indicate which panel... has anyone been able to find the right script?
thx

Mar 14, 2013 12:05 PM in response to jamezmbpby -ailand-,Hey guys!!!
Apple has released an SMC update for the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display that attempts to resolve some of the issues that users have reported. Notably, this update has fixes for graphics issues, wake from sleep problems, fan control, and PowerNap bugs. It is available via the App Store Software Update tab or Apple’s support website.
Please update and let us know!
