complete computer freeze from iphoto start

I was importing photos from the iphone, seemed to go ok then I clicked on a short video from the iphone and the spinning whell kicked in on iphoto, and that was it. My mouse worked, the dock responded with movement untill I clicked on "anything" ( I have done this a few time in trying to figure it out) then the computer will 'deep freeze' no control on anything, I need to power off to reboot.

I refreshed the os,lion, and reinstalled iphoto, updated, got same thing, except now safari will not run. Safari will begin to load and then it crashes. I scanned with tech tool, everything was fine, couple bad sectors on a 'data disk' not related to the system. As it stands now, I can use the computer and it seems fine, I cannot usse safari or iphoto. Safari will crash but will not effect the computer, iphoto will simply 'spin' and then the entire computer will freeze.

what's up? If I was stil on a pc I would think virus.

On the last startup I got a recovery log, I can't make heads or tails of it, I saved it if anyone can use the info.

thanks,

scott
