Also having the same problem, and also reluctant to upgrade to the latest iOS as many people have reported higher battery drains. Anyone else had this?
As soon as I upgraded to 6.1 I was also shocked at the astonishing rate it was depleting my batteries on my Touch and iPad 2. Looked like 5 to 10 times as fast battery drain. I looked at WiFi, blue-tooth and location servces to see what may be happening there. Didn't see anything strange, they were all turned off.
Today though, my Touch drain magically didn't die on me for some reason and is back to normal. Not sure what kind of bug/glitch caused this, but too early to tell. Maybe it only happens shortly after the upgrade for a period of time? I'll keep an eye on my iPad to see if the battery stops dying soon on that as well.
