Ever since installing montain `lion the built-in microphone does not work. An external USB Nuance microphone works pefectly,but I cannot get the built-in microphone to hear me even when turned up to maximu, in a quiet environment.
What to do?

Thanks for thensuggestion, but alas it did not cure the problem.
I think perhaps when Apple replaced my internal hard drive they may have damaged the microphone. So I will try using an external USB microphone i stead.

Plug in headphones and unplug them. (Trust me on this one). If that doesnt work don't waste your time get it into the retail store.
