If I import an 82GB library via homesharing WiFi will the audio quality be the same? Ballpark, how long will that take?

I'm transferring an 82GB iTunes library from a 2005 iMac to a 2008 Intel duo core iMac. I discovered the button on the bottom right in Homeshare! Will the audio quality be equal to the originals if I use the WiFi on a first-generation Time Capsule? Is this going to take me days and days? Would it go faster if I hook the two up together somehow?

At the moment both are still OS 10.5-something and I'm still using iTunes 10.6-something. I am then going to upgrade the 2008 iMac to Snow Leopard and I guess Mountain Lion so that I can get iTunes 10.7 because currently my new iPhone 5 can't sync with iTunes and all the stuff I will want to hear is on the older iMac.

I really appreciate anyone who can help me out! Thanks!

It will take a while using wifi. If you use an ethernet cable between your iMac and Macbook pro it would be 3 times faster than wifi.

Personally I would just use finder to copy the

username/Music/iTunes folder over to Username/Music on your laptop. Then your playlists come over as well

I've been hearing that people are disappointed with iTunes 11 and someone suggested I upgrade just to 10.7, which they said will be compatible with the iPhone 5. So when I got a whole slew of automatic upgrades coming through from Apple after installing the Snow Leopard, I shut off the iTunes 11 upgrade. What do you think about iTunes 11, and the idea about trying for just 10.7?

And if I upgrade to Mountain Lion now, will it automatically update to iTunes 11 or will I have a choice?

I have been using itunes 11 since it came out. There are 3 tips I would give to any existing iTunes users

Change the look and feel to iTunes 10 by

View > Show Sidebar

View > Show Status Bar

Click on the black arrow in search and untick Search Entire Library.

I als do not use iTunes Match but use the iCloud to sync my contacts and calenders accross all my computers and devices.

I can honestly say I have had no issues with it. I would suggest you look at it on a computer. Is there an Apple Store near you or Best Buy etc so you can go and look and make up your own mind.

You still have a choice over whether you upgrade to itunes 11 on Mountain Lion
