What's the difference between a refurbished and recertified Apple product?
there's a 3rd party website selling "recertified" apple products and i would really like to know the difference before making a decision. Thanks!

I don't know but I certainly wouldn't trust them.
Apple refurbished products have the standard Apple warranty and are eligible for applecare.
You'd have to ask the third-party site what "recertified" means to them. It's not something approved or done by Apple and will not carry an Apple warranty beyond what would remain of the original warranty, and not even then if the device was opened to be repaired in any way. Apple only refers to the products they process as "refurbished" and to the best of my knowledge sells such products only through the online Apple Stores.

Buy a Refurbished iPad? The What, When, Why and How
http://www.maciverse.com/refurbished-ipad.html
Has new screen, back and battery, and warranty.
My guess on the "recertified" is that it's a used iPad that has been checked out to be operational. Similar to when a car dealer sells certified used cars.
Cheers, Tom
Is this webstore even an Apple authorized reseller? You can look up authorized resellers on Apple's webstie at http://www.apple.com/buy/
If they are not there, they are not an Apple Authorized reseller, and you pays your money and takes your chances on just what, exactly, you get.
