iPads being sent back---no Firefox capability!

Why has Apple blocked Mozilla developers from placing the most popular browser in the world, Firefox, app on iPad?

Common sense would seem to indicate that more iPads would be sold if they had the capability of running the most popular browsers.

Thanks!

If you had checked before buying the iPads, you would have known that FireFox was not supported and the whole issue would have been moot.

As to why FireFox isn't allowed:

FireFox doesn't use the WebKit engine; Apple has made the decision that all browsers for iOS must use the same engine. Why? Only Apple knows and they aren't telling.

What is so important about FireFox that you just can't live without on an iPad?

You're probably right to ask, "What is so important...Firefox?" Best answer is something called "switching cost." In other words, what it would cost me in terms of productivity (because of proficiency gained using Firefox the last 10 years) to spend the additional time climbing Safari's learning curve.

Also, it is frustrating to be a user who finds himself at the mercy of two big organizations who can't or won't work together to provide a widely used product. "Frustrating" should not be a word having to be used in the world of ease and convenience of computer useage.

Thanks!
