Remote App has problema after Apple TV and IOS 6.1 update

Hello all,

If you are unable to connect to your Apple TV from Remote.app after applying yesterday's Apple TV update:

1. What version of iOS do you have on your device?

2. What device and generation are you using?

3. How is your Apple TV connected to your Wireless network? (directly or through Ethernet)

4. Were you using iTunes Match on your Apple TV prior to updating?

5. Have you been able to resolve the issue, and if so, how?

2. iPad 3rd generation, Apple TV 2nd. Generation

3. Connected wirelessly to a Time Capsule.

4. Did not use iTunes Match on any device, including the Apple TV

1. IOS 6.0.1

2. iPad 4th Generation, Apple TV 3rd Generation

5. Issue not resolved. Iphone 5 with remote app works, Bluetooth Zagg Keyboard works iPad does not work to control ATV3 from app. Does work to control itunes library.

All of this worked perfectly before the update of firmware today for the ATV3.

6. Yes. iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.

Question 6: Remote app connects on iphone 5 (IOS 6.0.1) Connecting ZAGG wireless keyboard also works for controlling Apple TV

2. iPhone 4S & iPad 3

3. Apple TV connected via WiFi (Airport Express 2012)

4. Not using iTunes Match

5. I restarted every device and deleted + reinstalled the Remote Apple App of the iPad. No changes iPad Remote App does not work.

6. With my iPhone 4S (iOS 6.1) I can use the Remote Apple App, but sometimes with a time delay.

Here in the netherlands the same problem, my brother can't connect anymore with the remote app on his ipad.

Here are the answers to your questions:

1: ipad ios 6.1, apple tv 5.2

2: ipad 2 32 gb, apple tv 3rd gen.

3: wirelessly connected

4: no itunes match, not before and not after updating.

5: issue not resolved (tried everything, restarts, network resets and even both devices recovered with factory resets and reinstalled ios 6.1 and apple tv 5.2)

6: yes, iphone 5 on ios 6.1 connects as usual, no problem at all.

In addition to the above. I myself also have an apple tv and an ipad, an ipad mini and an iphone. Here are my own answers to your questions.

1: ipad ios 6.1, ipad mini 6.1, apple tv 5.2

2: ipad 2 64 gb, ipad mini 16gb, apple tv 3rd gen.

3: ipad's are wirelessly connected, apple tv is connected with ethernet cable, all to an apple time capsule.

4: I do have iTunes match, before and after updating (for more than a year now)

5: no issues at all, it all connects as usual, like it did before all the updates.

6: also iphone 5 on ios 6.1 connects as usual, no problem at all, never had any oroblems connecting.

With me all devices are working and have always worked. I myself did not have any connection problems with the remote app on any device.

I was able to solve my problem (as mentioned earlier) by restarting the ATV after doing many other things to get the Remote app working again on my iPad2. I case it helps, I add the following information about my systems:

1. iMac on Mountain Lion (latest update) using iTunes 11 (latest update)

2: iPad 2 32 G ios 6.1, Apple TV 3rd generation 5.2

3. iPod Touch 3rd generation ios 5.1.1

4: iMac connected to wireless router (non-Apple) via ethernet, iPad2 and iPod connected via WiFi

5: I do not use iTunes match

6: iPod always worked with Remote app, iPad2 always worked with Airplay abd now works with Remote app after ATV restart

I do note that when I got the Remote app to work again, the iPad2 screen looked somewhat like access to iTunes on iMac but was actually connected to ATV. I do not know what ATV screen on my TV looked like because I was at my iMac. A few swipes and I saw the ATV menu screen .

1. iPad 2 ios 6.1, Apple TV 3rd gen 5.2, iPhone 4S ios 6.1

2. Ipad 2 64g wifi, iPhone 4S 64g

3. Wirelessly via AirPort Extreme

4. No iTunes Match

5. Not resolved. Restarting Apple TV did not resolve issue.

6. iPhone 4S ios 6.1 works perfectly.

Ipad 2 remote app worked just before updating to 6.1.

I was too optimistic. After my ATV went to sleep, I again could not get the Remote app to work with my iPad2. I guess we will have to wait for Apple to fix this mess.
