Ios 5.2 Apple TV remote app not work on ipad

Same here with iPad 2 since actual update.

Me too. Latest Apple TV, iPad 3. I can not connect to my Apple TV via my iPad app. Both iPad and Apple TV on today's latest code. My Apple TV using Ethernet port. Please fix. :-(

Rebooted both Apple TV and iPad, pulled power plug. Nothing helped. App hangs when trying to connect to Apple TV.

Count me in! iPad 3 running iOS 6.1, Remote App works fine on Apple TV 2 running v5.1, but it hangs trying to connect to Apple TV 3 running 5.2. Seems to work fine on iPhone, however.

I have the same situation. Rebooted my complete network and all devices, none helped. Funnily remote on iphone works ?!?

My iPad(6.1) will connect to a pre-upgrade AppleTV but not to one that is on 5.2. It would seem to be an issue on the AppleTV(5.2) side but I have not tested connecting to a AppleTV(5.2) with a pre-upgrade iPad. Will try it tonight.

Same problem here. updated iPhone 5 to latest iOS 6.1, updated Apple TV 3. generation to 5.2. Home sharing doesn't work at all now!! not on the iphone, not on apple tv and not on the pc in itunes. Synching the iPhone screen with apple tv doesn't work! Tried restart everything, desactivated home sharing, reactivated it, changed the name of my musiclibrary, changed settings in my router, restarted router, disabled firewall, NOTHING helps! Actually, my apple tv is useless now! I just can rent movies and listen to music through icloud....but other than that?! 😠 What's wrong Apple?????? I was thinking about buying a mac but if nothing works in a simple wireless network.......?!

I have an ipad lte with sprint an iPhone 5 and Apple TV 3, all updated on latest software, ipad keeps saying connecting but iPhone 5 works both are still doing airplay it's just the remote app that's messed up :( I power cycled everything and still no luck. Apple please fix this!

I have the same issue with an iPad4 and a AppleTV 3. I tried to restart everything and connection through a different router. No luck. There is clearly an issue with the software update to the AppleTV Version 5.2 as it worked before.

Please fix this!

You are not alone. I tried all the fixes, multiple times, but nothing worked.

I think there's nothing to do but wait. The fact that many of us are experiencing the same problem with the iPad Remote app, and the fact that the iPhone Remote app still works fine, tells me it's a glitch in the software - maybe Apple TV 5.2, maybe iOS 6.1 (I updated to both yesterday).

Meanwhile, since Apple does not read these forums, I suggest we all leave comments on their feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html

That way they'll at least know a bunch of us are having this issue.

Hopefully Apple will issue a fix soon.

I can stream fine from iPad 2 via AirPlay. I can mirror from iPad 2 as well. It's only the remote app that can connect. Running ios6.1 and AppleTV update 5.2.

my guess is something in the Remote app can't handshake with 5.2.

Yep, I have this same problem.

I also can not stream audio from movies to airplay speakers (although I can stream if the content is music).

I think that bug was supposed to be fixed?
