How to fix ios 6.1 file corrupt for many IPAD 2 users

When I press option right click on the restore button nothing happens? Help please.

Dont worry, sorted its left click for me for some reason.

This only works for MAC, not PC. And its just right click, or Option click. Then select .ipsw file

I know that it says iPod but as you can see it also says iPad/iPhone/iPod

Mine was stuck on the Image of the USB wire

and iTunes was helpless

But

after downloading the IPSW file

I did Option Clcik on the Restore button and the entire process was rally fast about 2 minutes to a "Brand New" iPad

There certainly seem to be some corrupt 6.1 files out there in the Over the Air download process

After speaking with countless advisors on the phone and going to the apple store. They could not help at all.

I followed the directions on this thread and voila, works like a charm.

Just a note: if you're using a windows based computer, you hold down shift and press restore on itunes to pull up the downloaded file.

The error message kept blaiming my Internet connection for the reason my ipad update wouldn't work properly but I knew that was a load of **** because my iPhone 5 did the same update without any issues. I bet this is going to blow up into a big mess for apple if they don't fix the update quick.

ok.. after further search on the internet i found a fix. the problem is because i have a jail broken ipad on my computer, it has chaged some iTunes settings and now it can't connect to apple server for final verification,

fix: you need to restore the ipad using a different pc. i tired that and it works.
