Notice on My MacBook Pro says "Carrier Update…"

When I turned on my MBP tonight and opened iTunes, there was a messege that said some like "there is a Carrier Update. would you like to download and install..." I did not see anything on my iPhone. I looked for a number on all of the icons but there was none. I went into Settings----General----About and down to Carrier, but there was nothiong there (just the number from the last Carrier Update).

I called Verizon and asked if there was a new Carrier Update for the iPhone 5. the agent told me to install the carrier update. I was more interested in finding out if there was a carrier update and if so what it was.

In reading the Support article from clicking "Learn" on the pop up window that said there was a carrier update, it said that a carrier update can come from apps like Maps, Stocks, etc. but it did not mention anything about a carrier update coming from the company one has their service from.

Is this something I should click to download and install on my MacBook Pro even know I can't find any notice about a Carrier Update on the iPhone?

iPhone 5, iOS 6
