I have a MacBook Pro. 2009, OS X 10.5..8. I have just increased RAM from 4 to 8.

To increase the speed when I use FCP, what shall I do next? To add hard drive memory (6GB left)? To upgrade system to 10.6? Thanks.

All my video footage, files are in external drives. I will follow your advice to clean up other areas on my hard drive.

I just copied 57 GB of iphoto library (incuding some camera video footage) to an external hard drive. Pictures in iPhone is really convenient to use. I am having a hard time to let it go.

Did you follow these instructions:

Once you've made sure that it all works as it should, you can delete yours on your internal drive - but since you have over 50 GB, I would recommend deleting a few at a time rather than all at once. Although, you may have moved files to the trash, the space is not regained until after you've emptied the trash.
