Help! I cant drag iPhoto event to desktop.

use export (file menu ==> export)

Use the File -> Export command.

If that doesn't help then you'll need to give a lot more information.

Are you trying to drag the Event icon to the Desktop or the photos inside the event? The Event icon can't be dragged to the desktop and get the pictures. One must open the event, select the photos and drag them to the Desktop. But remember you'll be getting the edited version of those photos if they've been edited rather than the original.

Exporting as suggested above gives you more options on what you'll get on the Desktp, i.e. originals, edited, size, quality, etc.
