parts unavailable for macbook pro

Just spoke with apple senior advisor and was told that after five years parts are unavalible for my computer. I never thought I would say this but this may keep me from ever purchasing another apple product. My battery is bad and he said I cannot get one. period. for a 2000.00 investment this really *****.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

I believe someone is mistaken. Parts are available, and some Apple Stores carry it. However, some stores do not have ample room to stock parts for older Macs.

Apple still makes a battery for your MBP. I believe he just made a mistake possibly referencing your local store?

Here is the link to the Apple Store online.

An Apple senior advisor.. what is that? Did you contact a Genius at an Apple Store? Perhaps their is a misunderstanding.. could he have said something like "Apple would charge alot of money for these parts and you can get it cheaper by going to an aftemarket company."

Here's a link for the older MBP battery for $129..
