Downgrade to Snow Leopard

I just spoke to an applecare advisor and he said that it is possible to downgrade a new mac that came with Mountain Lion, but that they were not allowed to tell me how to do it.

Does anybody have any info on this topic?

Thanks

Ha, did you say you had a 17"?

According to a brody's list (thanks, noondaywitch!), if you do have a 17", you can only run Lion:

Note: I am not doubting anyone - I am trying to get to the bottom of the puzzle. If yours works despite whatever lists have been published, that's great! If I am wrong as to which model you have, let me know.

Even my current early 2011 is an i7.

It has Intel/Radeon graphics but by the time you get into mid 2012 they have NVIDIA GeForce GT cards. Of course it is possible that there are other differences in the build that may prevent even a machine with Intel/Radeon form running SL.

I was blisfully unaware of the impending doom when I bought this computer and would have been mightlyly p***** off had it not taken the downgrade because my previous machine had been knocked about and was held together with string and chewing gum.
