my windows computer asked me to back up prioy to upgrad and i did. Photos taken with ipad are gone please help. tried restore and it did not find them.

If you successfully backed up your ipad to you itunes on your computer, then photos in the camera roll on the ipad shoud be in that backup.

I tried restoring and they still arent there. Is the a place i can look for the photos taken with the ipad on my computer?
were these photos take with the ipad camera? or were they synced to the ipad from computer?
sorry, I guess you already posted that these were photos taken with the ipad camera. Anyway, they should have been inluded in the backup.
Make sure you restored the ipad from the backup and not as a new device. Otherwise nothing would be there, just original apps.
Did you have icloud turned on? Maybe an icloud backup?
Individual elements of a backup are not accessible, not in a way that I know of.
Are you using a mac or pc?
I don't think I had the cloud on but am not sure, I hardly ever hook my wife's ipad to the computer. I wanted to load a new cd on her ipad. when I plugged it in it said there was a new OS to upload. So when I clicked to update it told me to back up the ipad first because since there was app's etc that should be backed up. After it backed up I then updated the OS and and as it was finishing up some kind of error happened where the ipad had to be restored. I restored it to previous and not as a new ipad.
Ok, so after you backed up/updated/and then restored, everything came back but the photos?
open itunes
go to the itunes menu bar at the top of the computer screen, click on edit/preferences/devices
you should see the backup listed with the appropriate time/date stamp (if backup was succussful)
You may want to try restoring again from this back up (if its showing)
Yeah i dont see the ipad with the date needed, i see all the backups i did on the 2/1 though.
Looked and saw there was a back up on the cloud on the date i needed🙂 pictures are back
i updated to os6 where did the pictures taken with my ipad go
